TheWallOfBlogs Released! & $1000 Contest!

Posted on September 4, 2007 | By Enkay | Leave a Comment | 884 Views

This is the official release of TheWallOfBlogs.com that I had talked about before. There was a pre-release for a selected few individuals who comment on the website and have been a great help to me and since this is a time stamped post, I don’t know how many have sold but I am sure that these will knock out pretty quick. As you all know, you can purchase a 125×125 Adblock for only $5. There is no limit to how many you purchase, so if you find 4 that are together, you can make it a big square and purchase a 250×250 square. The price of the adblock will always be at $5 and the fact that the adblocks are bigger than most other sites like this one, it makes them easily noticeable no matter where it is located.

Secondly, some people ask, what the benefit is of being located on the wall and the answer is simple. You get to be a part of blogging history by being on the first Wall of Blogs, you get traffic ofcourse, a link back from yours truly and heres the big one….drum roll please.. the chance to win $1000 in cash prizes! The way this works is that as soon as the first 500 spots are filled, I will give away $500 to one lucky winner and then as soon as the remaining 500 spots are filled, I will give away another $500 which totals up to $1000 in cold hard cash! You can use the $500 to buy anything, even botox treatments if you’d like! Anyway, so check out the Wall Of Blogs and go ahead and save yourself a spot for only 5 bucks! It can’t get any cheaper than this! Thank you all for your help and I hope to see you on the wall! Check out The Wall Of Blogs!

Well actually seeing how it looks made me thought that 1,000 banners wouldn’t be that bad but there would be a lot of scrolling which ends up giving the advertisers at the bottom a little less traffic then someone at the top would.

Hi there, Well, what I have decided to do is remove the lower grid section to a little more than a third of the page length. That would mean that now there are only 640 blocks.

That’s gonna cut in to your maximum profit from it quite a bit, won’t it? I suppose just from extra traffic alone, long as you sell enough to break even, you will benefit from it.

Yes thats going to cut profits by about $1800 but thats no big deal as long as I am able to deliver a good amount of traffic to my advertisers!

I see, pretty good improvements. At least your still making a good amount of profits even with the $1,000 giveaway just for thinking of a great idea. Good luck! :)

That’s what I thought when I noticed 8 blocks in one row, but I did not take efforts to actually count the rows. Does this mean, you not gonna have 1000 or planning to add later.

By the happy to be part of thewallofblogs as I mentioned earlier. And looking forward to see lot of traffic from there.

* Can we use automated gif images as thumbnail if it’s small enough in size?

Hey Thanks again Abhijeet. I dont know if animated gifs will work but you can surely send it to me and I can check it out for you. I won’t be having a 1000 ad blocks and instead will be lowering it to 640. That means that there will be a smaller income for me but that means better publicity for the rest of the advertisers, and ofcourse better chances of winning :)

I’m glad to be supporting your new project, got myself 4 blocks at one go, no hesitation at all! I bought it once I got your email, but a pity I didn’t manage to get those blocks at the top fold.

It would be nice if you could share with us, readers and supporters, how you intent to market The Wall of blogs? You do plan to promote it to bring more traffic to the “advertisers” right?

Hey there BetShopBoy. What I will be doing is talking to a few people that own blog contest sites such as Brian Alrich to promote the contest portion of the wall and have people visit the site that way. Also, I will be contacting a few affiliates and partners to get some spots and hope to raise popularity that way too. Also maybe adding more to the prizes will help bring a lot more attention to it. I will have to see how the additional prizes go because currently its at $1000 but my part of the income is lowered due to less ad blocks but I will work it out for my “advertisers” for sure!

“The $10K Giveaway” and “The Wall of Blogs”…

There are a couple of current online projects that closely mirror an idea that has been done and imitated before, but both of them plan to give cash to one of the purchasers.

Interesting idea - not completely unique, but interesting all the same. I might see if I can save the $5 for a spot! :D

Thanks Danny. Well, the reason it is unique is because the ad blocks are bigger and rotated so everyone gets full coverage :)
